Pearlridge / Pearl City
These communities are located on the
edge of West Oahu in a central location
near Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Camp Smith
and Hickam Air Force Base. These
communities offer several housing types
including high rise condominiums,
townhouses, and single family homes.
This region starts at the water’s edge
at Pearl Harbor and flow up the
mountains and valleys to the north. It
houses Oahu’s second largest shopping
mall-Pearlridge as well as parks,
restaurants, hospitals and easy access
to the H-1, H-2, and H-3 freeways. It’s
central location on the island is ideal
for those who would like to utilize all
areas of the island easily and those who
work at the nearby military bases.
Waikele
Waikele is a beautifully designed
community centered on the Waikele Golf
Course. The neighborhood community rules
preserve the areas lush, high quality
appearance. The streets are landscaped
with large trees and flowering plants to
offer a country club setting. It also
houses Oahu only factory outlet mall
with several big name retailers and
restaurants.
Ewa
District
Ewa Beach was originally a plantation
community complete with a sugar mill and
a train station which would carry
passengers from the Waianae coast to the
plantation. The Rail Station is still
there and has been restored to take
passengers of a historic tour from the
Ewa Plantation down the Waianae Coast to
Nanakuli. Now Ewa Beach has expanded it
community from the H-1 down to the
ocean. The Ewa Gentry subdivision began
development in 1988 and the community
continues to expand with its newest
communities Ocean Pointe which offers
both townhouses and single family homes.
It also has a new preschool and
elementary school. There are plans to
construct a large marina at the water’s
edge which will include restaurants and
a Yacht Club. This area is one of the
fastest growing communities on Oahu.
Villages of Kapolei
Villages of Kapolei include 8
residential neighborhoods in an area
which was mostly sugar cane fields prior
to its development. Kapolei is also
known as “The Second City” because it
has been rapidly developing in the past
since the early 1990’s. Several
government offices have opened in the
area as well as Oahu’s only Water
Amusement Park and soon to be built West
Oahu Campus of the University of Hawaii.
The housing options in the area consist
of Townhouses and single family homes
and all the communities are located with
easy access to the beaches of Kalaeloa
and the H-1 freeway.
Makakilo
Makakilo is located on the hillside
which spans from Kapolei to the top of
the mountain. This area began
development in the 1960’s and some
development during the next 20 years and
rapid development during the late
1990’s. The homes have trailed all the
way up the gently sloped mountain and
consist of single family homes and
townhouses. There is a gated community
at the top of the hill housing several
luxury homes. Most of the rim lots on
the hill enjoy panoramic views of the
ocean and those facing east can see a
clear view of Diamond Head in the
distance.
Ko
Olina
Ko Olina is Oahu’s newest resort planned
neighborhood surrounding the Ko Olina
Resorts championship Golf Course. There
are 4 man made coves which are popular
for swimming because they protect
swimmers from large waves and offer a
calm beach for families to relax and
enjoy the beautiful waters of the
Waianae Coast. Ammenities include The
Marina, a Sports Club, the popular
Paradise Cove Luau and the premier
Ihilani Resort and Spa. Future
development hopes to include retail and
office buildings, a new school, an
Aquarium, and a new Resort Condotel. |
